Who is Simone, and what is she not telling us? In Secrets of Simone, a young woman is wrapped in layers of cobalt and ultramarine, her dark hair framing a pale face marked with bold strokes of gold and amber. Her eyes look down; her red lips stay closed.
Monique pairs the cool blues with flashes of gold, a crimson collar and a bloom of red at the edge of the canvas, so the portrait feels both calm and intense. A striking, mysterious piece for anyone who loves figurative art with a story behind it.
